Houston's Unification & Guidance Services (H.U.G.S) is a Detroit-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting justice-involved youth as they transition back into their communities. Founded by Dessinae Houston, H.U.G.S. provides comprehensive, trauma-informed, and technology-centered services that promote long-term stability, accountability, and success.
Our work is grounded in research, lived experience, and community collaboration. H.U.G.S. exists to ensure that young people are not defined by their past mistakes, but empowered by their future potential.

Who We Serve
H.U.G.S serves youth ages 13 to 20 who have experienced incarceration, probation, or court involvement, with a focus on:
Youth returning home from detention or residential placement
Youth at risk of reoffending
Youth facing academic, digital, or employment barriers
Families seeking reintegration support
We prioritize underserved communities in Detroit and the surrounding areas.
